Preschool Overview
We provide a rich classroom environment where children are encouraged to explore and are challenged to learn, while making friends and developing self-confidence. They strengthen their cognitive skills with fun memory games in which they match objects that share similar characteristics. And, because children learn best by doing, we provide opportunities for hands-on experiences, such as creating collages, which combines creative expression with a tactile experience.
* Math and science skills developed with hands-on experiences
* Thematic units that encourage curiosity, self-direction and confidence
* Daily language experiences that support literacy and language development
* Observation-based assessments that demonstrate your child's progress
* Regular communication with teachers so that you are informed
Your Preschooler's Day
To ensure every day is a great day for your child, our caring, experienced teachers create activities that combine both learning and fun. Our curriculum is organized into theme-based units, beginning with topics most familiar to children. As children develop their skills and confidence, our teachers address more complex topics. These thematic units prompt discussion about the world and do so in an enthusiastic environment. Each unit incorporates language, mathematics, science, creative arts, music, motor skills, and social development.
Group Time - Group time is also an integral part of your preschooler’s day, when your child learns to enhance his or her social skills. Our teachers invite your child to listen, share, take turns, cooperate, demonstrate curiosity, and give and receive feedback. These social development skills support your preschooler’s ability to flourish in a classroom environment and demonstrate new learning—while having fun!
Language and Literacy - Daily activities develop reading and writing skills and introduce important literacy concepts. We use high-quality children’s literature to promote a love of reading.
Math Skills - Children are introduced to the rich world of numbers, including sorting, grouping, and counting, as well as more advanced math skills.
Creativity and Imagination - Children showcase their abundant creativity through dramatic play, music, and art. Creative activity develops imagination and independence, and fosters confidence.
Physical Development - Children develop their large motor skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, and kicking. They also practice coordination skills needed for writing, drawing, cutting, and other activities.
